It’s really not just about 20 cents!

I think some people don’t understand how much of a fucking progress it’s for our country to not give a shit about football (FIFA Confederation Cup) and go to the streets  to demand changes instead.

What people around the world need to understand is that we still love football very much and we do know that the World Cup and the Olympics will do great things for our country, but at what price, exactly? Our government is expending way too much money on that. What we want is to see this same kind of investment and “dedication” applied to our education, to our heath system, to our roads and so on.

The national tv channel that owns the World Cup broadcasting rights (and it’s also the channel that usually share national news/footage with the biggest news channels around the world) and also the other national medias, are manipulating the facts and portraying the protests as nothing but a free act of violence which IT’S SO NOT TRUE. If you want the truth come to the internet, here we’re not manipulating the facts.

Trust me, all the violence that you’re seeing, it’s really happening, but from the police (who I personally think, keep forgetting about how low is their salary and that they are also part of the population) towards the protestants, not the other way around. The people is being repressed, the government is giving the police free pass to shut us up because they don’t want to send a “bad image” to the world when two of the most  prestigious sportive events are about to take place in our country. But that’s exactly why this is the perfect time to do this, the world is watching and we need all the help we can get.

We love football, we are excited about the World Cup and the Olympics, but we’re humans and we deserve to be treat as such. We can’t teach our children or treat the diseased ones in the stadiums.
